Mel Fisher Maritime Museum Archaeologist Corey Malcom discusses how the long-running Key West turtling industry helped to shape the island’s identity and economy for over 150 years and how it almost wiped out the Green Sea Turtles. This unique story is examined through historical research, oral history, and the archaeological excavation of the Key West Turtle Kraals. Earth Day 2016 Special Event

We are coordinating a special Earth Day celebration with our community partners the Key West Sea Turtle Club, The Turtle Hospital, Key West Wildlife Rescue and the Florida Wildlife Commission.
